The focus for Jan 2009 is blessings. One verse that I really fell in love with about blessing is found in Acts 20:35. It says "It is more blessed to give than to receive".
We normally don't think of giving as a blessing. We think of giving or so we have been told as a way to trigger a blessing....much like ...our giving is what invokes God to bless us.
I believe that God rewards givers by giving them more. So receiving is definitely a blessing and this verse does not contradict that but it says the giving part in and of itself is more of a blessing than the receivng part. I luved that.
