When it is about tomorrow there are two types of people.  On one hand there are people who are scared of tomorrow and constantly worry about it.  On the other extreme there are people like Paul who scare tomorrow,  who stretch ahead to catch it and subdue it.

Which one are you?....

My two year old talks really well for his age but of course makes a lot of cute mistakes when he talks.  The other day he said to me "what did you ate?".  That is not too bad for a two year old so I didn't bother correcting him.....

I know this sounds stupid but I sometimes write an e-mail to God.  I literally send an e-mail to LordGodAlmighty@yahoo.ca.....

Have you ever been told that as a Christian you are a faith person but others such as those who believe in science are not faith people.  That is baloney.  Everybody lives by faith.  The only difference is in who or what your faith is in.....

Many Christians fantasize about being rich so that they can serve the Lord.  I can't help wondering if serving the Lord is the true motivation for that kind of fantasy.......

Faith is a normal part of everybody’s life. Some have their faith in themselves, some in science and some in other things. What makes you a Christian is not that you have faith but that your faith is in Jesus.....

"In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength” Is 30:15

This is what the Lord said to Israel in Isiaih chapter 30.  He called for their repentance,  rest, quieteness and trust.  In exchange He promised salvation and strength.  What is being asked of them is to rest and be quiet, i.e., do nothing.  What is being promised is salvation and strength.....

The topic of faith in the Bible is not as simple as meets the eye.  I am beginning to learn and appreciate how pervasive faith is in the Christian life.  Here are some of the things the Bible teaches about faith.....

Do you believe in God?  If I present this question to the people of the world, my guess is that the vast majority will say yes.  Then, if I ask them who God is, most will have no answer or a vague answer at best.....

“Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith”  Heb 12:2

We live in what is called the information age.  Thanks to the internet, Google, Wikipedia and the likes there is just no lack of information at all.  The problem, in fact, is we have too much information that we get distracted by a lot of things we do not really need...... 

Even though there might be things we do not know about God the same way Nicodemus did not know some things about the wind,  even though there might be questions we can’t answer about God,  the Bible, Jesus etc… we know God is real.....

If you do not know how to pray, what you need is not a prayer skill. What you need is faith. Because prayer is not a vocation. It is an act of faith. The Bible says “The Lord answered their prayer because they trusted in him” 1 Chr. 5:20. Not because they used impressive words; not because they prayed long; not because they have many years of experience, but because they trusted in him.....
