Christ crucified

The Jews really needed to see some fancy miracle in order to believe in God: probably healing, prophecy etc...more like a lot of people today. The Greeks needed to be impressed by some smart orator/motivational speaker. Both are good but those should never be the point of any sermon. The point of all sermons should be Christ crucified. Period.....

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:18-20
I would like to bring your attention to the part where He said I am with you (the highlighted part) and say a few things about that....

Evangelism Vs Tradition

There is nothing wrong with the Church having a tradition. But tradition becomes a problem when you place it above faith and above the word of God. We see a lot of churches today with rich traditions proving that their fathers had strong faith but you do not see faith and the word of God in those churches. The only faith you see is that of their fathers. The sad part is the people in those churches are alive but their faith is dead.

Being A Witness

Jesus' last words on the cross were "It is finished". You may have been a Christian long enough to know what He meant by that. But, since He did not specifically say what is finished, one might ask what is finished. Interestingly, these are not Jesus’ last words on earth. He came back after resurrection and said some things. Of what Jesus said, the last thing recorded by both Matthew and Mark is this....

Love Vs Judgement

In our relationship with one another judgment and love are two things we just can’t have together. We can only have one or the other. If we choose to judge people, we will find it hard to love them. On the flip side, we find it hard to judge the people we really love.....

The Power Of Your Words

“The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground.” 1 Samuel 3:19
How do you feel about something like this being said about you. Put your name in place of Samuel’s. “The Lord let none of YOUR NAME’s words fall into the ground.” Wouldn’t that be great?.....

It is sad to see that people today treat our gospel the same way we treat sales people. They get annoyed. What is even more sad is that we are intimidated by that. As a result we have devised many non-offensive outreach methods, sometimes even at the expense of some important biblical principles.....

How You Say What You Say

You see, witnessing is not about winning arguments. It is about winning souls. Trust me; more than your argument it is your gentleness, your love, your care, your tone, your attitude etc… that wins souls. Most people don’t care how much you know but they want to know how much you care.....

Ethiopians 2000 Years Later

In Acts Ch. 8 there is a story of this Abesha man. He was sitting on a chariot coming back from a worship service and heading home. He had a Bible in his hand that he was reading aloud.
Unfortunately, despite all the zeal and effort, his answer when he was asked if he understood what he was reading was: “How can I, unless someone explains it to me” Acts 8:31
The story of this Ethiopian man is 2000 years old. Today, 2000 years later, there are countless Ethiopians who are like this ancestor of ours.....

God Without Jesus

You see, even before Jesus died on the cross God loved humanity. God’s love for us didn’t start in the New Testament. But, when Jesus came, He made it so obvious. He made it easy for us to understand His love. That is why He said “This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends” John 15:13 (MSG)

Witnesses Or Advocates

People generally have respect for the truth. If you have it in your bones and not just in your words, they will respect you and listen to you. Isn’t that why the witness in a court room is more credible than the defendant or even the lawyer? Three witnesses make a very strong case. Three lawyers don’t.....

The Bible says: “So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."
Wait a second!! Why do you need to be full of the Spirit and wisdom to wait on tables?........
