Do You Not Perceive It?
By Semere @ 2:33 AM :: 234 Views :: 2 Comments :: :: Spiritual Maturity

Some of us are caught up in what we like to call vision and always think about tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow and fail to see what the Lord is doing today.  Some of us are dwelling in the past, just like Israel in this verse, and fail to see what is happening right before our eyes.....

Fighting While Working
By Semere @ 11:02 AM :: 136 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Spiritual Maturity

When faced with problems, people react in one of two ways: There are those who are interested in finding out who is to blame. The other ones are the ones who don’t mind going the extra mile to solve the problem. They are focused on the solution and not the problem. That is what Nehemiah and his people did. Is God really Love or just loving?
By Semere @ 10:44 AM :: 134 Views :: 4 Comments :: :: Love, Spiritual Maturity

A while back I was typing on MS Word and part of what I typed was a verse from 1 John Chapter 1 that says “God is Love”.  At the end I had to run my document through a spelling and grammar check.  The computer stopped me where it says “God is love”.   It didn’t like it.  Instead, it suggested “God is loving”.

What Being A Christian Is All About
By Semere @ 4:11 PM :: 64 Views :: 1 Comments :: :: Spiritual Maturity

The Christians in Rome had a big debate about a meat sacrificed for idols.  They were arguing big time whether as Christians they are allowed to eat that meat or not as if their Christianity depends wholly on it.   Paul had to address the issue.  He said to them, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” Rom 14:17.

Christianity is not about do’s and don’ts, even though there are do’s and don’ts.  It is all about righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.....

Anger Management
By Semere @ 3:28 PM :: 67 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Spiritual Maturity, Forgiveness

“In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Eph 4:26-27

 When it comes to anger, the questions are these:  What angers you?  What do you do when you are angry?   In the interest of time I will leave the first question aside.  Paul dealt with the second question in this verse.  He gave us a straight forward answer:  In your anger do not sin.....

What Stephen Taught Me
By Semere @ 3:37 PM :: 73 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Jesus, Spiritual Maturity

In the world we live in, humility is not considered a virtue anymore. Try putting “humble” along with self starter, team player, quick learner etc…on your resume. People will laugh at you. Regardless, humility is a virtue. We should seek it in spite of the humiliation and embarrassment it sometimes costs.....
