Someone said Jesus has to either be the true Son of God that He claimed He is  or a psychotic who has no idea what he is talking about.   Even though we know the He is the former,  that conclusion kind of makes sense from a non-believer perspective......

You may be a teacher, a preacher or a pastor or you may just be a member at your local church.  Whichever you are,  it is the Holy Spirit and only the Holy Spirit that helps you either teach or learn.  Without the Holy Spirit there is no teacher.  Neither is there a student....

One day back in the summer of 2001 I was riding a Toronto street car. If I recall right it was the Dundas street car going to Broadview Subway station.  I remember I was seated.  I was on my way to Church.  My heart was rejoicing for no reason at all. I was in the best of moods ever for reasons unknown to me but I was enjoying myself.  All of a sudden a couple of some strange words slipped out of my mouth.  I couldn’t understand what I just said.....

Not only is the Holy Spirit a gift but it also gives us the gifts commonly referred to as gifts of the Holy Spirit in Rom 12,  1 Cor 12,   and Eph 4.   Make sure you don’t confuse the gift of the Spirit with his gifts.....

Even though Jesus did not have any possession to leave behind,  He left behind something that is worth more than any possession.  He said,  “Peace I leave with you” John 14:27.  Peace is what his disciples inherited from him. 

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Phil 4:6

In this verse I want you to pay particular attention to the word “guard”.  First of all, what does guard mean?..... 

Some Christians have an unhealthy interest in the devil.  They blame everything on him.  When they pray,  they talk more to the devil than the Lord.  Even though they are not possessed, they are obsessed.  But we have to know that even though the devil is real, he is defeated.....

I have no reason to believe that most of the Bible writers had a Bible in mind when they wrote the Bible.  When Paul wrote the letter to Timothy, for example, I don’t see any indication that Paul intended it to be a Bible.....

One of the characteristics of the peace that Jesus gives is that it transcends all understanding.  There is this other superficial kind of peace that comes from other things.  You get it and you understand why.  You have peace because you have this or you have that,  you have peace because you do this or you do that,  you have peace because you are this or you are that etc...  When those things are gone or even when you get bored with them,  the peace goes out the window.....

I believe the body of Christ is made without the appendix. But, because of the way we conduct ourselves, it is possible for some members of the Church to be an appendix to the Church.
