Here is an excerpt from what I shared on last Saturday’s service for those of you who missed it:
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19:1
Here the psalmist is telling us that the heavens and the skies declare and proclaim about Him. They don’t just whisper, or just speak or talk. They declare. They proclaim. When something is proclaimed, everybody hears it. When something is declared, it is loud and clear.
On judgment day, people may be able to say I have never seen a preacher, no one preached to me etc.. but, they won’t be able to say I did not know God. God is a reality. God is obvious. Heavens declare His glory. The skies proclaim Him. The birds sing about Him. Seas roar and declare His glory.
The reason why people don’t come to Christ is not because they never heard about Him. It is not because they didn’t hear all these declarations and proclamations. It is not because they don’t know. It is because they don’t care.
“For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened” Rom. 1:20-21
It is not because they didn’t hear. It is because they don’t listen. Remember? to hear is not to listen.
Are you listening?
