“No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known]” John 1:18 (Amplified version)
Without Jesus, God would be a far distant God who loves you. You hear about his love, you try to grasp it, you struggle to believe and you would just be confused. That is the problem with people who say they believe in God but don’t believe in Jesus.
You see, even before Jesus died on the cross God loved humanity. God’s love for us didn’t start in the New Testament. But, when Jesus came, He made it so obvious. He made it easy for us to understand His love. That is why He said “This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends” John 15:13 (MSG)
But, it has been 2000 years now and people have a tendency to forget. For many today Jesus didn’t even die on the cross. They take it as a fairy tale. Unfortunately, He is not going to come and die for them again. If they don’t believe now, it will be too late when He comes again. The second time He comes, He is coming to judge.
In the meantime you and I have a big responsibility. The same way Jesus made God’s love so obvious to us, we have a responsibility today to make Jesus’ love obvious to people. “Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers” 1 John 3:16.
Believe it or not we are His only instruments of love. It has been said that your life as a Christian is the 67th book of the Bible. I would like to remind you that you are the author of this important 67th book and for many this book is the only book they will ever read about Jesus. What makes this book different from the other 66 is that you don’t write it with paper and ink. You write it with a lifestyle.
Here is my blessing for you: Let others find it easy to understand His love because of you. It is a noble task and a big responsibility.
“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Eph 4:1
