What Is Love Again?
By Semere @ 1:14 PM :: 251 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Love

Love is warfare. What?  Yes, love is warfare.  You want to excel in the way you love?  You have to first win the war.  Which war? The war between you and your ego.  That is where the war is. Selfish people just can’t love.  When they do, it is for selfish reasons.

The Bible says:

“he who rules his spirit is better than he who takes a city” Prov 16:32.

Mind you; to rule your spirit you only have to subdue one person and that one person is you but to take over a city you have to conquer the whole city and its people. And yet the Bible says it is better to rule over your spirit than to take a city.  Trust me;  it is so much harder to subdue your ego than to win over a multitude of people.

“As I have loved you so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” Jesus in John 13:34

Jesus meant two things in this verse:

  1. We have to do it the way He did it.  He loved us while we were still His enemies.  So, just like His love for us our love for one another should be unconditional.
  2. Our love is the proof that we are His disciples.  It is not your hairstyle; it is not your false humility.  It is your love, the type of love,  the unconditional nature of your love, that proves that you are His disciple.  Don’t tell people you are a Christian, if they can’t see it in the way you love unconditionally.

Beenie’s e-mail signature says “Trying to love the way He does”.  That is what being a Christian is all about.
