When Jesus walked on earth He asked His disciples a question. He said, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." "But what about you?" He asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simply put, this question is life’s most important question. Jesus is still asking this question. Your answer to this question determines your destiny. Yes, your destiny.
In trying to answer this question people still say nice things about Jesus. Some say He was an excellent man. Some say He was a good teacher. Some say He was the most humble person ever lived. Some even say He was a prophet (Muslims). All these answers are good but not good enough to give you a passing grade.
Peter hit the nail on the head. He said “You are the Christ the Son of the Living God”.
We all have so many questions for God. But, Listen. God is sovereign. He has no obligation to answer all the silly questions we fabricate to avoid facing this most important question of life. What we should do is forget all those silly questions we have for God and answer this one question He has for us:
“What about you? Who do you say I am?”
If you get the answer right, you have found the answer to all the questions you have.
All Scripture reference is from Matthew Ch 16.
