After His resurrection in Matthew 28 Jesus gave his disciples a commandment to go out preach the gospel. He said to them:
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:18-20
I would like to bring your attention to the part where He said I am with you (the highlighted part) and say a few things about that.
Jesus here is telling his disciples to go to all nations and tell them about him and also saying....oh by the way, I am coming with you. Why does he have to come with them?
He has to come with them because that is basically what makes Jesus and the whole evangelism idea very unique. If you don't have Jesus with you, you can't talk about Jesus. No Jesus, no evangelism. No Holy Spirit, no evangelism. Period. If you don't have Jesus in you, you shouldn't even bother preaching about Jesus. It is the Spirit of Jesus that enables us to preach about Jesus.
" no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit." 1 Cor 12:3
