In any kind of relationship, the relationship is not over when you start having fights. In fact, the relationship is over when you stop fighting but start ignoring each other. That is when it is over. The worst thing you can do in a relationship is ignore each other. I know couples who always fight but are still together. But I don’t know of couples who don’t talk to each other and stay together. There is more hope for couples who fight than couples who don’t talk to each other at all. In fact one of the indicators of how good your relationship is is how often and how much you talk to each other.
Same is true about your relationship with the Lord. Your relationship with the Lord is not over when you sin-repent-sin-repent-sin-repent... It is over only when you sin and do not repent. It is over only when you don’t care anymore what He thinks. It is over when you stop talking to Him. It is over when you start ignoring Him, as if He does not exist. It is over when He is not in your world anymore. It is over when you turn your back on Him and He can’t see your face anymore.
When was the last time you had a long talk with Him? “This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jer. 33:2-3
