In Acts Ch 6 you will find a story where there were too many people in the assembly. The apostles were so overwhelmed with the number of people they needed help with waiting on tables. The Bible says: “So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."
Wait a second!! Why do you need to be full of the Spirit and wisdom to wait on tables? Anyone can do that. Right?. Yes, anyone can do that when working for other bosses. But, when God is the boss, it does not matter how simple the task is, you have to have His Spirit to work for Him.
You see, God is NOT interested in what YOU can do for Him. He is interested in what HE can do through you. For that you have to be the temple of His Spirit. And the reason why you need wisdom is not because He needs your wisdom. It is because so that you will be wise enough not to interfere with what HE is doing through you. When you are full of the Spirit and wisdom, you become an empty vessel for God’s annointing to flow through you.
How empty are you?
