Yoseph

Let me tell you a few things about myself. My name is Yosef. A student at Seneca College, I am a member of the Joseph Generation Army.

The main reason why I am a Christian is that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God that is based on His love for us (which is unconditional) and not ours (which is conditional). To know that there is a God who loves me so much that he would lay down his life for me and love me so much that regardless of my faults, weaknesses and shortcomings, His love for me would never change; and to know that there is nothing I can do to make him stop loving me is just amazing.

Also, to know that my God recognizes my weaknesses and faults and provides practical yet time-tested spiritual truths is helpful in today’s world. Like the bible says, “He gives beauty for ashes.”

In Christianity (or in Christ), I find hope, peace, forgiveness of sins, strength and wisdom. I would love to sum up why I am a Christian in the following parable.

There was a man named John who had a son. One night while his son was coming home, he was murdered on the streets. John had two choices and they would all be justified:

He could kill his son’s murderer (this is called revenge), or he could go to court and let the law judge him (this is called justice). But what John did is beyond the imagination of the human mind. He forgave his son’s murderer and loved him so much that he took him in and adopted him and gave him the place of his son(this is called Mercy).

Guess which one of the characters I am in my little parable? This is why I am a Christian.
